After your gel manicure, avoid prolonged water exposure for at least 4–6 hours. Water can seep under the edges of the gel and begin the lifting process before the curing is fully complete. In Florida's warm climate, sweating and pool water can be especially problematic in the first day or two.
Moisturize Your Cuticles Daily
Gel polish seals the nail surface, which can dry out the surrounding skin over time. Apply a cuticle oil every morning and evening — this keeps the cuticle flexible, prevents peeling, and actually extends the life of your gel by keeping the edges sealed.
